Unbelievable! Rongai Pride and Lookout Pride sharing a meal. Spectacular what happened a few days ago: The Lookoutpride was sharing a buffalo with the Rongaipride! It was a peaceful meal, just the normal struggling to get the best piece of meat. Defending the kill for the best position and against eight jackals and many vultures the roaring sounds of the lionesses increased. Obviously curious about what happened ,Notch II appeared at the horizon and came straight to the two groups. Napejo and the pride, alarmed because they were in a foreign territory, gave up and ran towards Ol Keju Rongai. Few minutes later Napejo came back to the buffalo while Cesar approached the kill. Cesar even shared the kill with her. Finally Notch II chased her away. But great, the meal was already almost finished and the Rongai family didn’t leave with an empty stomach.

Nicht zu fassen! Rongai Pride und Lookout Pride teilen eine Mahlzeit. Spektakulär, was vor ein paar Tagen passiert ist: Die Lookoutpride teilte einen Büffel mit der Rongaipride! Es war eine friedliche gemeinsame Mahlzeit mit ganz normalen Kämpfen um das beste Stück Fleisch. Die Mahlzeit verteidigend, um die beste Position beim Fressen und die lästige Abwehr von acht Schakalen und mehreren Geiern, steigerte sich das laute Gebrüll der Löwinnen. Offensichtlich neugierig, was da vor sich ging, erschien dann Notch II am Horizont und kam zu den beiden Gruppen herüber. Napejo und ihre Pride erschraken – da sie ja in fremdem Territorium waren, machten sie unvermittelt Platz und liefen in Richtung Ol Keju Rongai. Wenige Minuten später kam Napejo jedoch zum Fressen zurück, während auch Cesar sich dem Spektakel näherte, der die Beute aber mit ihr teilte. Schließlich verjagte Notch II sie abermals – jedoch zu einem Zeitpunkt, als schon fast der ganze Büffel verspeist war, sodass die Rongai Pride nicht mit leeren Mägen abzog.

Gut getarnt Der König der Maasai Mara hat es sicher nicht nötig sich zu verstecken. Mit Ausnahme der sengenden Sonne braucht sich ein Löwe vor niemandem zu verkriechen. Aber getarnt ist die große Raubkatze trotz allem in den Weiten der Savanne oder in den Wipfeln der Bäume. Das Fell des Löwen hat sich in seiner Farbe gekonnt der natürlichen Umgebung angepasst – es verschwimmt mit den dürren ausgetrockneten Gräsern und der staubigen Erde. In den Baumkronen finden die Schatten der Blätter und Äste eine geradezu perfekte Leinwand, um den Räuber mit seiner Umgebung eins werden zu lassen. Ein Vorteil für den Jäger, der manches Mal ganz plötzlich neben seiner Beute auftaucht. Und wenn das mit der Tarnung und dem Anpirschen einmal nicht so gut funktioniert, kommt ihm sein Rudel und dessen Stärke Zuhilfe …

Malaika Gang - Baum abwärts Wir lieben es, Malaika und ihren Jungen im Alltag zuzusehen. Die berühmte Gepardin sorgt beständig für spannende Geschichten und hält uns mit ihrer Familie in Atem. Aber es muss nicht immer ein Konflikt oder Abenteuer sein, um sich unterhalten zu fühlen. Wie sich eines der Kids hier von einem Baum herab bewegt, ist auch einen Kommentar wert. Der Gepard ist ein so anmutendes Tier, das man über die Schönheit seines Körpers ganze Bücher verfassen könnte. Die Proportionen und die schlanke Linie der schnellen Wildkatze sind an Harmonie kaum zu überbieten.
